We were delighted that Prof Ramsay Bowden from Cambridge presented on the UK FA Registry at the British Society for Genetic Medicine Annual Conference in November, with a talk entitled: “The shifting landscape of Fanconi anaemia: Insights from the UK registry with implications for clinical management”.
Astonishingly, after 9 years we now have over 1000 patient-years of data in the Fanconi Hope-funded Registry and as a result, the team are able to start drawing conclusions from the mass of data held in it.
We are grateful to the enthusiastic team working on the Registry project, four of whom were at the Fanconi Cancer Foundation Scientific Symposium in September – Beth Lee, Dr Stefan Meyer, Prof Ramsay Bowden and Dr Riya Tharakan. The project has been run since 2015 by Dr Stefan Meyer in Manchester and Prof Marc Tischkowitz in Cambridge, and with Beth Lee doing a sterling job liaising with the UK FA Community over all this time.
